From Shared Roots to a Global Business
Katherine Huyen and Ben Khuu are the husband-and-wife team behind KATT Medical Products. Both were born in the countryside of southern Vietnam, and both of their families were forced to leave during the fallout of the Vietnam War.
They met after Ben moved from California to Michigan. After marrying, they built several successful businesses while raising their three children. As their family grew, Katherine and Ben felt drawn to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the country that shaped their early lives.
In 2006, they began sourcing textile products from Vietnam for healthcare applications. Ben’s family had experience running cut-and-sew operations through its apparel business in Los Angeles, while their extended family in Vietnam helped connect them with local suppliers.
Creating Opportunity Through Manufacturing
This vision led to the founding of KATT Medical Products and the construction of a purpose-built factory in Ho Chi Minh City for dyeing, knitting, and sewing textile products. Katherine and Ben are proud of the jobs they have helped create, providing stable income and a safe working environment for more than 250 local families.
Who We Are
Giving Back to Our Communities
KATT Medical Products is committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. In Vietnam, we purchase and distribute food, clothing, and school supplies to families in our hometown community. We also support environmental conservation by operating and preserving local farms in the countryside.
In both Vietnam and the United States, KATT donates medical products to organizations serving people in need, including face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is not only to build a successful business, but also to create a lasting, positive impact for the people and communities around us.
